Mama’s ‘clean’ cookies
These are a firm favourite of mine as I like to eat clean, (without processed foods and refined sugars) but have such a sweet tooth! They are simply oats, banana, cinnamon and raisins mashed up, formed into cookie shape and baked. The end result is something akin to a soft oat and raisin cookie but this version contains no junk!
Oats are an excellent source of iron, calcium, fibre, carbohydrates and proteins. As oats are high in fibre, they can also help keep constipation at bay, (this is important for new mamas – trust me!) Oats provide slow release energy as does the banana which is also packed full of potassium. Potassium is essential for your whole nervous system, including your brain. Cinnamon regulates blood sugar levels and the raisins provide a sweet hit!
